Dress in the Color of the Year Mocha Mousse with the Blonde Squad
Dress in the Color of the Year Mocha Mousse with the Blonde Squad

Dress in the color of the year Mocha Mousse with the Blonde Squad. I am happy to report that we are finally back with another blog hop. Mocha Mousse was named color of the year for 2025 so we thought we would show how we each would style this beautiful neutral shade.

Dressing Up Mocha Mousse with a Printed Maxi Dress

I found this Mocha Mousse jacket at Nordstrom Rack. Getting a jacket in this shade is perfect for layering in any season. I chose to layer mine over this colorful summer printed maxi dress. I love the contrast of the bold print with this muted shade. Initially I planned to wear this jacket with jeans but as you can see, it works nicely with dresses too. We are in the season where it’s too chilly to wear summer maxi dresses alone so adding this jacket is a great option.

Keeping it Casual in Mocha Mousse

Again I am embracing the contrast of a print with this muted shade. This tank has been in my closet for years and it’s been a while since I’ve worn it. The jacket and jeans both have shades similar in the print so I think it’s a match made in heaven!

More Cosy Island Goodness

I am doing another collaboration on Insta with Cosy Island this upcoming week and I’m still obsessed with the comfort of their shoes. I received two more pairs that I’m wearing in these looks above – the Minimalist Weave Pointed Toe Heeled Slingback in hot pink and the Commute Wild Wedge Square Toe Pumps. Both are so chic and extremely comfortable. The hot pink shade of the slingbacks is the perfect way to add a pop of color to a look and the leopard print heel of the wedges are so cool. Have you tried Cosy Island shoes yet?

Beyond Basic Beige: The Best Trench Coats Dominating Spring 2025
Beyond Basic Beige: The Best Trench Coats Dominating Spring 2025

The first tender rays of sunshine have barely broken through winter’s grip, yet fashion’s collective pulse quickens as trench coats reclaim their rightful place in our seasonal rotation.

As former Nordstrom VIP stylist Sansy Koszarek tells Who What Wear,After a long winter, a trench coat is a spring staple I can’t wait to wear—the perfect layer to complete my outfits.”

But calling a trench merely “versatile” feels like describing champagne as bubbly water. This storied silhouette transforms its wearer, lending military precision to Monday meetings and effortless nonchalance to Sunday farmers’ markets.

With its heritage pedigree and understated elegance, the trench has long been a cornerstone of the coveted “old money” aesthetic—a genuine investment piece that transcends trends while signaling refined taste.

For this post, I’ve hunted down the season’s most gorgeous trench coats, each one promising to be the backbone of countless outfits and the protagonist of many compliments.

These are the trench coats worthy of prime real estate in your spring wardrobe.

1.Hobbs Petite Skylar Trench Coat, Verdant Green

This verdant emerald trench proves that classics needn’t be confined to neutrals. The saturated jewel tone brings drama and intensity to an otherwise traditional silhouette, creating an instant focal point for any outfit. The precise tailoring and elegant proportions ensure this bold colour choice reads as sophisticated rather than trendy—a smart investment for those looking to expand beyond beige.

2.Rust Oversized Cropped Trench Coat Cape

This innovative cropped trench in rich camel reimagines the classic through a contemporary lens. The shortened silhouette with exaggerated wide sleeves creates visual interest while maintaining the coat’s utilitarian details. Styled with a black turtleneck and high-waisted jeans, it demonstrates how traditional elements can be recontextualised for the modern wardrobe.

3.Cream Floral Jacquard Trench Coat

This extraordinary white trench, with its dimensional jacquard floral pattern, transforms the utilitarian classic into something almost ethereal. The crisp ivory creates a clean canvas that showcases the textural jacquard weave, while the traditional trench elements—wide lapels, storm flap, belt—keep it grounded in wearable territory. Perfect for spring celebrations or elevating simple evening looks.

4.Checked Utility Trench Coat

Reinventing tradition with every square inch, this check-patterned trench blends heritage appeal with contemporary proportions. The oversized fit creates a cocoon of casual luxury, while the statement patch pocket disrupts the pattern with deliberate asymmetry.

5.Brown Gingham Clyde Trench Coat

This brown gingham trench brings pastoral charm to city streets. The warm, earthy check pattern offers a refreshing alternative to spring’s typical palette, while the traditional silhouette keeps it grounded in classic style. Paired effortlessly with denim, this coat demonstrates how pattern can function as a neutral when rendered in complementary earth tones.

6.Weekday Oversized Double-Breasted Trench Coat

This military-inspired olive trench exemplifies the coat’s practical heritage while feeling thoroughly modern. The styling with a vibrant blue hoodie demonstrates the trench’s chameleon-like ability to elevate casual pieces.

7.Brown Check Tailored Longline Trench Coat

This glen plaid trench in sophisticated neutrals strikes the perfect balance between traditional tailoring and contemporary proportions. The subtle pattern adds depth and dimension without overwhelming, making it an exceptional layering piece for polished professional looks. Note how beautifully it complements the delicate ruffled blouse—proof that structured outerwear can still feel distinctly feminine.

8.Navy Blue Semi-Long Trench Coat With Belt

Every wardrobe deserves a perfectly executed navy trench. This version, with its impeccable tailoring and double-breasted front, represents the platonic ideal of the form. The rich, deep blue offers a sophisticated alternative to traditional khaki while maintaining the coat’s inherent versatility.

Wrapping It Up

The best trench coats transcend mere weather protection—they embody the perfect blend of function and style that defines Spring 2025’s most coveted wardrobe heroes.

How To Bring Chic Resort Style to Your Next Mexican Vacation
How To Bring Chic Resort Style to Your Next Mexican Vacation

Today I’m sharing how to bring chic resort style to your Mexican vacation or any warm weather vacation. We are leaving this Sunday for Cancun and staying at the Garza Blanca Resort & Spa which is about 30 minutes north of downtown Cancun. I couldn’t be more excited! I decided to share some of the looks I am bringing which is also helpful with the my process of packing. There are some new purchases and some old but most are still available to buy if you are heading out on a warm weather vacation.

Boho Puff Sleeve Top, Denim Shorts, and Platform Sandals

The THML puff sleeve top is from last summer but this style of top is everywhere this year too. Meredith Jaye (where I work) has this one and this one if you’re interested. The shorts were a recent find at J.Crew factory. I love them and know I will wear them all summer. The TOMS platform sandals were a recent buy from Nordstrom Rack. I couldn’t resist because they were $40 and are so comfy.

One Piece Floral Bathing Suit with Matching Cover Up

I have been eyeing matching swim sets on Amazon for a while. I was unsure if they would be good quality but I’m so pleased when I received this one. Besides the gorgeous print and colors, I love the fit. The ruffles on the one shoulder and one hip are such a cute detail! The best part is that this set is under $50!

One Shoulder Ruffle Maxi Dress from Amazon

This maxi dress is an oldie but a goodie! I wore it on the blog a couple of years ago and have continued wearing it since then. The mix of red and pink is so gorgeous and I adore the one shoulder neckline and tiered skirt. Perfect for an evening dinner near the ocean. This dress is still available on Amazon in this print and several others. And it’s another amazing deal at $50! I am also bringing this dress that I shared last week.

Chic Resort Style Accessories

Don’t forget the accessories when you head out for your vacay! I had to share these gorgeous earrings that my husband got me for Valentine’s Day. (He also got me a rhinestone ring that I’m wearing in this pic.) I found both of these pieces at my friend Lauren’s shop. The brand is TOVA and I couldn’t get over how pretty their jewelry was. Adding some bling gives the pop your outfits need.

I also found this totally fun beach tote on Amazon. I received it the day after I shot these looks but I had to share how adorable this bag is. It will be sitting next to me at the rooftop pool with all my necessities. I love the sound of that!

Getting Ready for My Mexican Vacay with this Pretty Puff Sleeve Dress
Getting Ready for My Mexican Vacay with this Pretty Puff Sleeve Dress

I’m getting ready for my Mexican vacay with this pretty puff sleeve dress from Walmart. Yes, I said Walmart! My husband and I are heading out in the beginning of March for a quick trip to Mexico and I have started looking for additions to my warm weather wardrobe. This dress came across my radar and I couldn’t pass it up, especially since it’s only $25!

Puff Sleeve O-Ring Dress by Scoop

Walmart carries a wonderful clothing brand called Scoop. Scoop used to have retails stores and we had one in Chicago that I loved to check out ever so often when I lived in the city. It was more upscale and carried beautiful clothes that I admired from afar. So I was pleasantly surprised to see this brand on Walmart’s site a couple of years ago. I bought this top from Walmart last year. So now and again I check and see what’s new from them.

I love finding easy breezy dresses for vacations and this one fits that bill. The unique details and fit of this midi dress is all you need to make an entrance on your beach vacation. The puff sleeves add a dramatic touch. I tend to shy away from cut outs but the ones on this dress are above where my love handles are. Lol! The O-Ring at the waist is above my belly button. Both of these unique details accentuate the waist which I love.

The balance is perfect when it comes to this midi dress. The top is fitted while the bottom has volume and flows out. All I have to say is that it’s extremely comfortable to wear. You can eat all you want and no one will be the wiser. My one tip about sizing is go up a size. I originally bought an XS and I couldn’t get the zipper up in the back. So I returned it and got a S which fits perfectly. Not sure why it runs so small but it was worth the back and forth to figure it out. It does come in three colors – black, white, and pink.

How I’m Flipping the Switch on these Pink Tops for Valentine’s Day
How I’m Flipping the Switch on these Pink Tops for Valentine’s Day

Today I’m sharing how I’m flipping the switch on these pink tops for Valentine’s Day. So many wonderful bloggers I follow are shopping their closet instead of buying so I decided to join in as well. I’m more of a pink girl so I grabbed my fave pink tops and came up with these two looks.

Pink Puff Sleeve Sweatshirt with a Plaid Mini Skirt

This sweatshirt is perfect for Valentine’s Day because of the pretty pink color. The puff sleeves take it up a notch so why not dress it up with a fun skirt. I love how the pink in the plaid matches with the top while the green is a nice contrast. It’s really cold right now so I had to wear the tights. I was worried that the black was too dark with this look but I think I like it. Pink and black is one of my favorite color combos.

Pink Fringe Cardigan with Crop Flare Jeans

This cardigan just makes my heart sing with the fun fringe and bright pink shade. I usually dress this piece up. To dress it down I chose to go with these crop flare jeans and oxfords. The black patent oxfords add a cool preppy vibe to the look.

Which look do you prefer?

Mix a Brown Floral Sweater with Chic Black and White Basics
Mix a Brown Floral Sweater with Chic Black and White Basics

Today I’m sharing how to mix a brown floral sweater with chic black and white basics. This was another purchase from the boutique I work at but it was on major sale. I loved it so much when I first saw it and I was pleasantly surprised that it made past Christmas on the rack. Brown is such a popular shade right now so why not pair it with black and white?

Brown Floral Sweater with a Black Pleated Midi Skirt

This skirt first appeared on the blog here and here. Most women get scared of mixing black and brown but I think all neutrals mix well together. (Black and navy is one of my favorite combinations.) The key with making this outfit flattering is tucking in the sweater and adding the bow belt. Leaving the sweater out gives no shape to my body.

Brown Floral Sweater with White Jeans

Why not wear white jeans in winter? There are no rules now when it comes to wearing white. I love how the brown sweater just pops off the jeans. I can leave the sweater untucked because of the fitted flare jeans. To finish off the look, I added my leopard and pink suede bag. I love how the pink suede picks up the pink in the sweater and the leopard mimics the floral pattern.

Which look is your fave? I think of the first look being perfect for church while the second is a cool casual going out look for the weekend. Yay for finding a sweater that can work with my black and white basics! Have you added brown to your winter wardrobe?

How I’m Styling My Cozy Chic Spanx AirEssentials Set
How I’m Styling My Cozy Chic Spanx AirEssentials Set

I’m sharing how I’m styling my cozy chic Spanx AirEssentials set. I was lucky to buy this set at the boutique that I work at because we sold out of it in less than a week! Since then I have been wearing it nonstop so I had to share some of the ways I’ve worn both pieces. I absolutely 100% recommend that you get your hands on this set. The quality and versatility of these items will last for years in your wardrobe.

Spanx AirEssentials Half Zip and Wide Leg Pants

It’s not a secret that I love all things Spanx. I have their flared jeans, wide leg pants, bras, and several pieces of their shapewear. Their price points are higher but so worth it because of the quality. Not to mention that it makes me feel confident in what I’m wearing.

This set is sold as separates but get both because you can wear each item with so many different things. I got mine in their very black shimmer which was a limited color for the holidays but there are over 20 shades to choose from. I am wearing a size XS. I can’t think of a better outfit to wear when traveling. (I am counting down the days until my next trip in March.)

Dress Up Your Set

To dress up these wide leg pants, I added a black sweater, leather jacket, and some booties. It’s so easy to transform sporty casual into a chic night out look.

Keeping it Day Casual

This time I chose to wear just the half zip with skinny jeans and knee boots. So classic and easy to put together! Have I convinced you to give this set a go? There are so many sets like this out there so if you can’t do this brand because of price, there are several others to try like this one here. Are you a fan of athleisure sets like this?

Classic Casual Chic in Black and White Stripes and Wide Leg Jeans
Classic Casual Chic in Black and White Stripes and Wide Leg Jeans

I’m classic casual chic in black and white stripes and wide leg jeans for my first post of 2025. The jeans were the only piece of clothing I received as a gift for Christmas but what a good item to receive! This petite gal found a pair that checks off all the boxes – style, comfort, and a decent price point.

Ribbed Sweater and Wide Leg Jeans

These wide leg jeans are by Wit & Wisdom and I’m obsessed! Somehow they weren’t too long on me even though they aren’t a petite size. They are also super soft and the fit is fabulous. The dark color gives off a dressy vibe and they are priced under a $100. I plan on recommending these to my clients if they need a pair.

The ribbed striped top was a find when I was doing last minute shopping at Kohl’s. I never get sick of black and white and it works perfectly with the high-waisted jeans. It’s also a great layering piece under blazers, jackets, and vest like I am wearing below.

To Vest or not to Vest?

Do you like the added vest? Or do you prefer to keep it simple with just the sweater? I like that the vest adds a bit of edge and dresses up the look even more. I’ve had this vest for years but love that I can wear it with wide leg jeans which is a newer addition to my wardrobe.

Christmas Day Church Style – Embracing Elegance in a Beautiful Blue Velvet Midi Dress
Christmas Day Church Style – Embracing Elegance in a Beautiful Blue Velvet Midi Dress

Today I’m sharing Christmas Day church style – embracing elegance in a beautiful blue velvet midi dress. I wore this dress for my flute recital in November. I had to find a way to wear it again and Christmas Day seems like the perfect time. Keep reading to the end to see what I’ll be sharing in this dress soon.

Vince Camuto Velvet Cowl Neck Ruffle Midi Dress

Isn’t this dress so pretty with its peacock blue color? As soon as I saw it, I knew it would be perfect for my recital. I had been struggling to find something that was comfortable to wear so I could breathe but still be elegant. The asymmetrical line towards the bottom and the cowl neck neckline is so flattering. The velvet fabric is extremely soft too. It also comes in a fuchsia color but this teal blue shade was perfect for the mood that I wanted for my recital which took place at night.

I paired it with these sparkly kitten heels that contrasted nicely with the dress. The shoes are extremely comfy as well and made it easy for me to perform that night. I hope to wear these heels throughout the year because of its neutral color. The rhinestones on the tops of these shoes make me so happy. ??
