Gala Ready and Glam Bot Gorgeous in a Chic One Shoulder Blue Dress by Powder Beauty.

I’m gala ready and glam bot gorgeous in a chic one shoulder blue dress. I mentioned before that I needed to get a dress for the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra gala. (My son plays in the the top orchestra and they performed.) Unfortunately, the dresses in my closet didn’t work because I have gained some weight with my menopause situation. This little number is what I found and adding gold accessories turned this outfit into something special.

Wearing a DKYN sleeveless one shoulder cut-out tie waist chiffon dress in blue.

Feeling gala gorgeous this one shoulder dress by DKNY.

I took the glam vibe up a notch with gold accessories.

I was ready for the glam bot with this chic blue one shoulder dress.

I decided right off the bat that I was going to search for dress is a petite size so there would be no worries of getting anything altered. During my search I found a dress on Nordstrom and this dress from Dillard’s. I ordered them both and this one won hands down. The A-line shape is so flattering and I never get tired of a one shoulder neckline. I also love the fact that there is some asymmetrical ruching at the bust and waist which makes my bust look a little bigger and my waist look a little smaller. It’s all about the fit people! Lastly, the color is fabulous. This cobalt/royal blue looks great on all skin tones.

Gala Ready and Golden

So what did I do to make this dress my own? I added all these gold accessories – the rhinestone belt, gold sandals, gold rhinestone earrings, and a unique gold mini bag. There was a fabric belt that came with it but I took that off and opted for this fun chain belt that I wore during the Christmas season. The colored rhinestones and gold chain give the dress the pop it needs. The gold sandals continue the metallic trend that I got going on and the fun bag and earrings are icing on the cake. All four except the earrings were from Amazon.

I want to come clean and say that the bag did not accompany me to the gala. It looks so cool but barely fits anything. I have a large iPhone and it just wouldn’t work. I used a box clutch that I had in my collection instead. But this bag is so fun and I highly recommend it if you only need to carry a lipstick, small phone, and credit card.

Glam Bot Gorgeous

I had to share this cool video that I took while I was at the gala. They had this special camera that was set up similar to what you see on E! for all their red carpet specials. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to give it go and pretend that I was at the Oscars. Lol!

Thanks for your Support

I want to thank you all for your support during this crazy menopause journey I am having. After all the tests and doctors visits, I found out that I am Estrogen dominant. This means I’m high in the estrogen hormone and extremely low in progesterone which creates so many terrible side effects. See the image below that my naturopath/doctor sent me to reassure me that I’m not crazy. She started me on a regimen of progesterone cream and supplements. I have also changed my diet. I can already feel a slight difference so I’m feeling hopeful. Thank you for all the love and support your sent my way.

Have a great week! XO
